UNO Women's Walk
The 26th annual UNO Women's Walk took place last weekend, where a new milestone was reached as the collective funds topped the $4 million mark! The total amount raised this year was a whopping $240,000. All of the proceeds from this annual event benefit women’s athletic at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Performance Volkswagen staff and vehicles were also in attendance as a proud partner and official auto dealership of the Walk. Other key attendees and speakers included Mayor Jim Suttle, Olympic gymnast gold-medalist Carly Patterson and University of Nebraska System President J.B. Milliken.
People filled the Sapp Fieldhouse on Friday to sit in on seminars ranging in topic, from health to finances, and over 300 runners and walkers participated in the main event Saturday morning. Once again, a hugely successful event for UNO women’s athletics and we can’t wait to see what kind of new heights are reached next year.

A Night with the Mavs –Sponsored by Performance Volkswagen
Performance Volkswagen, our Omaha Volkswagen Dealer, helped sponsor the third annual Night with the Mavs at UNO on Thursday, March 31, at Embassy Suites in La Vista. The fundraiser helped raise money for UNO athletics, and was a great success! The event included a social hour and memorabilia auction, followed by a gourmet dinner enjoyed by over 400 guests.
Terry Pettit, former volleyball national champion coach, made an inspiring impression upon all in attendance as the keynote speaker for the event. A highly-anticipated logo unveiling also occurred, as the newly designed university “O” logo was showcased.
With the help of partners like Performance Volkswagen, A Night with the Mavs helped raise over $5,000. Proceeds from this event went directly towards student-athlete scholarships and program enhancements for UNO.

25th Anniversary of the UNO Women's Walk

Our Omaha Volkswagen Dealer, Performance Volkswagen, helped sponsor the 25th Anniversary of the UNO Women's Walk. This event originated in 1986, and has grown to become the largest fundraiser of its kind in NCAA athletics. This year's walk attracted more than 1,000 participants and raised over $270,000 for female student-athlete scholarships. Dignitaries at the event were University of Nebraska System President J.B. Milliken, UNO Chancellor John Christensen, UNO Athletic Director Trev Alberts and Omaha mayor Jim Suttle.
The VW Performance Give-Away was a big hit, which featured the Putt to win a Volkswagen Jetta. While no one won the car this year, everyone walked away with great prizes! Angie Anderson Quinn, President of Performance Volkswagen, states "we are honored to be a partner with University of Nebraska at Omaha with their commitment to providing a quality education".
